YVR (Vancouver International Airport) Observation Deck, Domestic Terminal, Lvl 4

Yes, I know, airports are not much fun when you're stuck in them, waiting for your flight or your luggage. But how great is that when you can go there on a mission to draw planes (or whatever) as much as you want!

Let's meet in the Public Observation Area: "Located in the public, pre-security area of the Domestic Terminal, Level 4 and free for all visitors, the Public Observation Area is a great place to meet family and friends. This area is more than just a meeting place, it provides visitors the opportunity to see first-hand an international airport at work and the beauty of Sea Island. At 500 square-meters, this space features seating for more than 150 people and floor-to-ceiling windows measuring seven metres high and 42 metres in length, offering expansive west-facing views of YVR's busy airfield."

Take the SkyTrain Canada Line out there and draw during transit already!

Your FareSaver ticket of $2.75 or monthly transit pass allows you to bypass the AddFare of $5.00, so make sure you have that kind of prepaid fare. Do not buy your ticket from a machine or it will charge you an extra $5. Read more here. And set me straight if I've got it wrong, please.

Bring your own drawing materials and paper. No need for chairs, the airport has lots of furniture.

P.S. For inspiration for sketching people on public transit, check out this Toronto initiative, Art in Transit. Maybe we can do something like that in Vancouver?

And this Berlin-based artist, Oona Leganovic's sketches.

Here is a blog post by an illlustrator about sketching people in public places.

This place is normally not visited by users of the air lines. This was my first visit. Many activities were seen on the airline services area overlooking the runways and field towards the sea and mountains and islands. also very busy ship traffic on horizon. I enjoyed very much.
    Thank you for the setup.

Hi guys, I am here now, come up to the observation level and turn right, I put the meetup sign on a table. I am wearing a teal cap. Meetup website has been compromised the last few days, so not sure I can post again or check it, you may have to find me without additional communication.
