This is a group for anyone interested in nutrient dense foods & traditional food preparation. As the Vancouver Chapters of the Weston A. Price Foundation, we have a passion for connecting people to real food sources, information & solutions. Our meetups have an education focus as we get together to teach and share traditional food preparation techniques, how to work with small food budgets and how to work together as a community to overcome political food challenges. There will be a variety of events and meetups posted to the group, from cooking classes to opportunities to come out and learn about wild harvesting, meet people in the field who do these different things and learn from them. There will be some postings for political events such as those in support of the raw milk issues happening today. Each meetup does have a social mixer component where you will meet and make friends with new people with a diversity of interests. Most of the events you will find posted here are family friendly and children are always welcome and become an active part of the activity process. Many of the meetups will be hosted at Ethical Kitchen, in North Vancouver as there is a great indoor space with kitchen & power-point as well as seating available for classes and social events. The parking lot features a large urban garden great for children to play in and also for hosting meetups about urban gardening and other outdoor activities. All of the events have a focus on building community and the passing on of traditional food knowledge that enriches our lives and builds a foundation for culture.
