I was wondering if anybody could help me with this question:

Developed a WordPress website using a temporary domain name :
Put the WordPress files not in the root folder but made a folder called: website

Now I launch the website called mywebsite and pointed this the domain http://www.mywebsite.... to the folder : website.
When I go to the index page come up but when I click on my links they still say
I need to change the permalinks to say http://www.mywebsite..... I look into the general setting and there is something called WordPress URL and Website URL.
Can I change here the URL to This is what I am thinking about doing.

WordPress URL: http://www.mywebsite....
Site URL: http://www.mywebsite....

Is this correct Any help is appreciated

You'll want both the WordPress URL and the Site URL to be Then you'll need to do a search + replace in your database to fix all the URLs that are now pointing to your dev url. There's a bunch of different ways to do this.

* Handy search+replace script that you can run from your browser and/or from the command line:
* WordPress plugin that will do the search+replace for you:
* BackupBuddy is a paid plugin that does a lot (backups, etc.) but also has a migration feature:

In any situation, make sure you backup your database before you do a search and replace as to be able to roll back in case you break something indadvertedly.

Hope that helps!
