A writer’s writing life is a carefully-constructed existence that few who aren’t writers themselves will comprehend.
Be it the time of day we choose to write, how long we write, how we cultivate our ideas, what we give up in order to make time to write, or any other aspect of our writing process and work habits, only other writers can truly understand the lengths we go to to make room for writing in our lives.
And while the writing life can range anywhere from the meticulous to the utterly ridiculous, not only do other writers understand our creative quirks and habits, they appreciate them, at times even going so far as to emulate them in order to become better writers themselves.
The discussion kick-starter questions for this meetup is thus as follows:
“What are the key aspects/practices of your writing life that work well for you?” (we want to learn from your experience)
“What aspects of your writing life are you struggling with?” (maybe we can help!)
Other topics will also be discussed as they arise, in a relaxed, friendly manner.
New members welcome! This is the White Spot located at Oakridge Mall on West 41st Avenue at Cambie. The reservation is in my name, or mention that you’re part of the writers’ group. The "Vancouver Writers' Social Group" sign will be on the table.
