What a great meetup this is shaping up to be...

Mike Woods of Atimi will be presenting on Swift. His background in technology should make for a great talk.

We are going to hold a Venture Capital forum. We have a great panel shaping up who will be discussing their thoughts on Venture Capital in Vancouver in 2014. This is a great group of minds.

The forum panel:

Boris Wertz is one of the top tech early-stage investors in North-America and the founding partner of Version One Ventures. His portfolio encompasses over 50 early-stage consumer internet and enterprise companies, including Clio, Edmodo, Flurry, Frank & Oak, Indiegogo, Julep, Top Hat, Unbounce, and Wattpad. Boris is also a board partner with Andreessen Horowitz and one of the founders of start-up accelerator GrowLab.

Greg Smith is the managing Partner at Espresso Capital. Greg is an entrepreneur first and a finance guy second. He bootstrapped his first software company at the age of 24 and sold it, seven years later, in March 2000. He is currently on the board of Tagga Media and acts as an advisor to numerous technology companies. Greg holds a Bachelor of Applied Science – Mechanical Engineering – from the University of British Columbia.

Allen Manser is an Investment Manager with the Clean Technology team and joined Zouk in 2011. Allen has 5 years of experience in management consulting and business operations. Allen is involved at all stages of the technology investment process, from managing deal flow to providing support in deal sourcing and evaluation, due diligence and deal execution, portfolio management and exit.  (originally from Vancouver but now based out of London, UK)

Our Technical Speaker Mike Woods is the Director of Software Development at Atimi.  He is a software development expert with more than 30 years professional programming experience in both application and systems software, with excellent design, coding and debugging skills.
