IIMA Presents: Bing.com - The Decision Engine

Hello fellow SEOs and SEMs,

This time we have the privilege of having James Laitinen from the International Internet Marketing Association (IIMA) present on Bing.com.... Unveiled by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer on May 28, 2009, Bing.com is the current web search engine (advertised as a "decision engine") which is currently commanding 9.4% of the internet market in the United States. Have you begun to take advantage of the benefits?

If you are using the search engine for personal and professional uses, consider the impact on search engine marketing and empowering people to make decisions based on their needs. Bing.com is a game changer in terms of search and Microsoft is making significant investments in this business. Be a leader, and ensure your taking full advantage of these unique and effective tools to help you market.

The presentation will cover:

  • Overview of strategy and selling with search engine marketing.
  • The change to personal search
  • Bing.com a quick review of the "decision" engine

Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the:

  • Bing.com webmasters guide
  • IIMA SEO Checklist guide

By coming to this event attendees can receive a discount on the Nov 25th IIMA event, and membership. There is no doubt with the addition of competition to the Google throne, opportunity for better tools and results are on the horizon for us all to leverage.

James gave us a fantastic overview of Bing.com, where it is at now and how it will enhance what we are already doing with SEO strategies. Like Twitter in its infancy, I have no doubt that it will take off and be a critical part in executing marketing strategies that get results. All aboard!

I learned a lot of new information on Bing, and the organizer of the event (Jose) also made the event entertaining with his amusing commentary.

Sorry I couldn't make it. 4 car accident on the Oak Street Bridge, another accident on the Knight Street Bridge, and a truck fire on Bridgeport The SEO gods have spoken!

Looking forward to next time for my first SEO meetup.

@Michael - yes, it will be 2nd floor. Just ask the hostess and she'll tell you. @Curtis - a little Vancouver beer will do you good. See you tomorrow :)

@Michael Kozlowski I beleive that we are up on the second level to the right but I'll have to confirm that. The best thing to do, would be to ask one of the servers if you get lost they'll point you in the right direction! It will be the room with the projector + screen :)
