A force for good in the world.
It's good to hear from you. I'm uncertain what you hope to "rekindle". Please let me know. "think" (which I enjoy a lot and imagine that you might) meets on Wednesday, so there's a conflict with that Meetup. Any possibility of Thursday?
Good to see you! I agree that it's difficult to produce lasting art without technical proficiency (The J. Pollach example was interesting: picking the "art" out of fairly random assortmenta. Not much technical skill, just "taste"? His early drawings I thought were well done.) Anyway. Have you seen the BBC video "How Art Made the world"? Proposes that literal representation isn't art, even in human form. It's the distortion that makes it "art", able to hook us more than literal reality.
Welcome, Ryan! Glad to see you here.
"Long time, no see!" There were a lot of people attending (not enough seats/space, quite a few differing views, no hot contestations. About a dozen of us continued over lunch at the McM's on NW 23rd. You missed a good one. Come again, soon.
Hi Ryan. Welcome to NWHG! You can find resources, events and links under the Pages tab. Members can post meetups, also. Let me know if you need help with that.
Sorry you missed it. We had an excellent discussion. It would have been good to have had your input. Were you in the correct building? It's directly across the street from the Beaverton Public Library (not the Resource Center on the corner of Hall & Allen). The Voss Room is on the corner of the building (in section 100). The main door (as usual) was locked. We had to go in through what seemed to be a large dining hall. Have a good night. Gretchen
I think that you would have enjoyed the discussion at Neophilis yesterday. Hardland, Goran and Todd brought lot of information about the subject. I learned a lot.
Sorry that you weren't able to meet us at Mee Sen and had to change your RSVP last minute. Hope all is well.
Hey Ryan! Sorry, you weren't able to come to The Hilt! Hope to see you again at a future meet up event!
