Good news! Everyone who participated in a Selection Meeting is invited to hang their photo voted #1 and their photo voted #2. The same frame and mat requirements apply. Hanging two photos is optional, of course. Please send me a message by the end of this Friday, November 13th, if you would like to hang two photos.
Several friendly reminders... Put in your order for your mat(s) soon, at whichever store you picked. Also, send your thumbnail(s) to Ji-Taek ([address removed]) by the end of Wednesday, November 11th, if you want your thumbnail(s) to be on the postcard. Finally, the frames are ready to be picked up, either at my place in the West End or at the Framing Meeting on November 17th.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Extreme Photography is about taking the best practices of photography and doing them all the time. The main purpose of this group is to get together and shoot whether is nature or people or places or shooting motion. We could even meet occasionally and discuss our photos and learn from other photographers. As people talk about their photos learning will naturally take place and ideas will flow. Other activities, like field trips, will be left to the many excellent photography clubs in Greater Vancouver. The About page has more information on what Extreme Photography is, but one thing needs to be made clear: this is not about critiquing photos. Critiques do more harm than good. Instead, people will just talk about what they like and dislike about the photos. The creator of the photo is free to accept or reject what is being said because everyone's opinion's is equal. I firmly believe that the best way to learn is to take lots of photos and talk with your fellow photographers about them.
