Vassar in Tech: A discussion with Gerry Laybourne ('69)

The Vassar in Tech Meetup invites you a networking cocktail reception and moderated discussion with Gerry Laybourne ('69)

Gerry Laybourne is one of Vassar's most prolific and accomplished media and tech alumnae.  Over the course of her career, she has served as president of Disney/ABC Cable Networks, vice chair at MTV Networks, and chair and CEO of Nickelodeon, which she transformed into the most widely watched children’s channel in the nation. Laybourne also cofounded the Oxygen Network with Oprah Winfrey.  

Currently she sits on the Symantec Board. She serves as Chairman of the Board of Defy Media and Kandu. Previously, she served on the boards of JC Penney, Electronic Arts, Move.com, Alloy Inc., and Kindercare.  

After a 12 year term on the Vassar Board of Directors, Gerry assumed the post of president of the AAVC in 2010.


Alison Lindland is the Senior Director of Customer Experience at Movable Ink, a SaaS marketing platform backed by Intel Capital, managing relationships with Fortune 1000 clients.  Previously she worked in client services and business development startups such as TheaterMania.com and Kohort, and at Fortune 500 companies such as OgilvyInteractive and American Express. 

She serves on the boards of Venture For America and Agency Spotter and is the cofounder of the Vassar in Tech Meetup and Columbia Venture Community. Alison holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
