Are You JEWISH & VEGETARIAN?
Is JUDAISM of true importance to you?
Is VEGETARIANISM of true importance to you?
If you answer yes, yes, yes,
then yes, yes, yes, you are in the right place : )
We welcome meeting you, a fellow VeJEWtarian.
This Meetup group,
(and our non-Meetup website,
and our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/VeJEWtarian/...),
will coordinate opportunities to come together
to celebrate Jewish holidays and holy days
with totally vegetarian (vegan) food
(at least on days when we are not to be fasting).
Judaism is our religion.
We honor Shabbat and the various other holidays and holy days.
We follow the Torah.
We believe in G-d.
We are Jewish :)
Being JEWISH is at the heart of who we are,
and being VEGETARIAN is outward manifestation
of our deeply held Jewish values!
Being veg is the Jewish ideal -
it was the ideal back in Eden -
it will be the ideal again after the Moshiach comes -
and, we can choose to elevate our lives
more to the ideal
during these days in between.
The key focus of this group is to provide a forum
for those of us who truly are VeJEWtarians
to connect with others of like-mind
in order to celebrate Jewish holidays and holy days
together with vegan food.
Our events will primarily be located in the West San Fernando Valley & occasionally in West Los Angeles.
If this is geographically conducive to you
and if both being Jewish and veg are seriously important to you,
then please do join us.
Being Jewish is a matter of our heritage and that is important to us.
Our ancestors did not struggle, suffer, & die
to remain JEWISH for us to throw that away.
Others have tried to destroy our people throughout the ages,
but let us not help them.
Neither, in good conscience, can we allow other animals
to suffer and die for us.
Thus, being VEGETARIAN is important to us as well.
Others are destroying
the lives of other animals, the planet, and their own health,
but let us not help them either.
Let us live actively as JEWS and as VEGETARIANS -
as VeJEWtarians !
Are you Jewish? Are you vegetarian? Do you care about both?
