Dinner: Seva Indian

Seva is a great little Indian place on 34th Street and 30th Avenue. The food here is excellent and a bonus is that it is right next to Sweet Afton, if you'd like to go for a drink afterwards.

I made a reservation for 6, it's in the name of 'Howard'.

A few reminders:

- If your plans change for the evening, please update your RSVP with enough lead time for others to take your seat at the table.

- Please make sure to show up on time.

- Try to have cash available. It would certainly help if you have small bills available too.

*Dinner checks include your individual drinks, shares of appetizers, your entree, dessert, and approximately 9% tax and double that for the tip. Please round upwards, as we want to support our local businesses.

This place is great. Coincidentally, Ethic Food Lovers is having a meetup there the same week.

Ooops... just got an email back from Bangkok Tasty that they are not open on Tuesdays. I checked with Thai Pavilion and they are also closed on Tuesdays. Perhaps that's the normal day for Thai places to be closed??? Instead, we will go to Seva, which is my favorite place for vegetarian food in Astoria. Hope you all like Indian!

Krisv- Hi! If you would like to post information about those great places in Jackson Heights, please do so in the discussion board. I created two threads for members to share their favorite places. http://www.meetup.com/The-No-Meat-Meet-Greet-aka-Vegetarians-in-Astoria/messages/boards/

I sure wish there were a pure veg place in Astoria, but I haven't seen one. As the group becomes more active, I think we should be able to venture to other neighborhoods. Thankfully, there are still some delicious options for us nearby. I hope you all like Thai. I am choosing Bangkok Tasty as our first dinner venue. I will make a reservation for 7:30pm on Tuesday night. Because it's a reservation for dinner, please make sure to update your RSVP if your plans change for the evening. We have a couple people on the waiting list, so if you can't make it, it would be highly considerate to let them in on dinner. Thanks!

    HI guys!

Isn't there a purely veg place near Astoria we can go to? I know there are a few places in Jackson Heights, but I dont know if that may be too far or not.

Zenon Taverna has a good number of veggie options too:

Any other suggestions for dinner or are we happy with Bangkok Tasty that Ilana posted?
