Gathering of the Tribes Vegan Potluck Picnic

Come celebrate Earth Day at Austin's largest vegan potluck picnic! In addition to tons of delicious food and great company, there will be music, giveaways, and a raffle to benefit the SARA Sanctuary and Sunny Day Farms sanctuary (so bring cash).

There have regularly been about 100 people or more at these Gatherings from all of Austin's vegan and vegetarian groups (ours as well as Vegans Rock, VegNetAustin, etc)... so there'll be plenty of food. Come join us, hang out with your veg friends and make new ones at the same time!

Please bring a VEGAN dish to feed eight adults--no meat or animal products of any kind (dairy, egg, meat or chicken broths, honey, animal fats like lard, etc.). Also, please be sure to bring your own plate, utensils, and beverage (no glass), and don't forget your serving utensil! You'll also need to let them know your dishes' ingredients at check-in, to help those with food sensitivities.

We want this to be a great experience for everyone--ESPECIALLY in the food department! Please be sure to read the notes and tips on how to be a good potlucker in the "BRIEF GUIDE TO VEGAN POTLUCKING" section of the webpage at http://atx.vg/gathering/.

There must have been 200 people in attendance. All of the people were wonderful, and they all put so much time and effort into making beautiful, healthy vegan dishes to share. The meetup was well organized, in a beautiful park. The only problem was parking.

One benefit to helping set up is that there is close parking available at that time. The other benefit is that we usually arrange for volunteers to go through the food line first.

I think you did a great job. I wasn't expecting such a crowd. I'll try to help next time if I can. I look forward to it.
