Rally Against Ringling Bros. Circus 2013

Action for Animals is organizing a peaceful and legal rally to protest the poor treatment and living conditions that the animals of the Ringling Bros. Circus endure. The rally needs lots and lots of people to simply stand on the sidewalk with signs and banners. The organizers will have the signs so you don't need to bring your own.

More info at the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/671988239481674

Why should you be at this rally?
1) You have to speak up for animals who cannot speak up for themselves.
2) Ringling Bros Circus has a long record of abusing animals including a record fine after admitting their mistreatment of animals.
3) Ringling Bros Circus uses bullhooks, whips, and electric prods when training their animals.
4) Ringling Bros Circus chains their elephants causing foot infections and arthritis, the biggest killer of elephants used for entertainment.
5) Ringling Bros takes baby animals from their mothers and never returns them.
6) Ringling Bros sells any animal who is no longer able to perform. Some of these animals my end up in small zoos or circuses that do not have the money to properly care for them. Some animals may end up in hunting leases.

We have signs and banners. Please bring:
1) your kids, your family, your friends, and your neighbors.
2) water, a hat, sunscreen, an umbrella. But please don't wear sunglasses or keep them on top of your head-- we want circus goers to see your eyes, it's less threatening.

Parking will be 2 blocks west of the Erwin Center in Lot 12. You will have to pay to park. Or, you can bike or take the bus.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
