ATX Vegan Drinks: Texas VegFest Pre-Party

This month's special edition of ATX Vegan Drinks is also the pre-party for Texas VegFest, taking place the next day (Saturday), April 5th. They have lots of exciting things planned and there will be several local vendors participating. The Vegan Nom will be sponsoring a taco eating contest, but to qualify for it, you will need to win a hula-hooping contest first. Come out and join the fun!

The food was delicious, but had trouble locating anyone from the group. Can't say I cared for all the second hand smoke on the patio, but this is Austin ( so what can you do ? ).

This was my first Meet Up with this group. I didn't even try to look where the members were and there was no sign of any sort to identify it. I sat near the Taco trailer and ended up talking to very nice people! See you tomorrow! I will be from 2-4 at the Sierra Club booth!

Question: Who chose Buzz Mill? VegFest organizers? When I went to look at the Buzz Mill webpage, I noticed they have at least two dead, stuffed animals as decoration in their service area. EEEWWWW!

Isn't that a bit odd? I know we integrate into the traditional meat-eating world, but the hunting/decorating with animals world?

    Just saying...

Again, I just want to emphasize that we aren't the organizers of ATX Vegan Drinks, we just take their event and post it on the calendar here. Any decisions regarding location is up to Ryleigh and Tenley, though I'm sure they're happy to hear your input and suggestions when you come, or if you want to pass it along through me.

Kathleen: Agree. Would like to see the organizers choose a more veg friendly venue. Though, I have to say the folks at the trailers / Buzz Mill were very nice and the service for a big crowd was very good.

Good question JayB , this is the first event that i am attending , how ?

It's really an event for us to meet and mingle with veggie-folks whether or not they're in APV. So we don't really meet as a group in one spot. But to help identify yourself, put the initials APV or write Progressive Vegetarians on your nametag!
