Imperial Garden is a longtime local favorite Chinese restaurant that is vegetarian and vegan friendly. Our completely-vegan menu will be served family style and includes the following:

Appetizers
Lettuce-Wrapped Tofu
Minced fried tofu and vegetables served over crisp thin noodles with lettuce shells.

Vegetable Rolls
Vegan eggrolls.

Entrees
Mixed Chinese Vegetables
Broccoli, pea pods, cabbage, mushrooms, and other assorted fresh vegetables.

Moo Shu Vegetable with Mandarin Pancakes

Vegetarian House Tofu (spicy)
Fried tofu, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, wood mushrooms, and hot red peppers.

Stir Fried Rice Noodles with Fresh Vegetables

Beverages
Hot tea is included.

The $13.00 fee includes all food and drink mentioned above, tax, and the tip. Imperial Garden is giving our group a great deal. This meal would normally cost about $5.00 more.

Note: Items that normally include eggs will be made without eggs for our dinner. All other ingredients were already vegan.

Payment Information:
Pre-payment is required. If you would prefer to send a check instead of using PayPal (payment link above), contact me and I will give you my mailing address.

The $13 fee includes a little extra to cover PayPal's fees (68 cents) as well as Meetup.com's $144 annual cost.

Payment Deadline:
Please pay on or before Monday, April 6th. At the event, I will have a list of people who RSVPed and a list of people who paid. You must be on both lists to attend. If you have any questions or concerns about this feel free to let me know.

Refund Policy:
If you cancel before the payment deadline you will get a full refund. There are no refunds for cancellations after the deadline or if you do not show up to the event. If something comes up at the last minute you are welcome to find someone else to attend instead of you. The reason refunds are not given after the deadline is that I agree to pay the restaurant for everyone who has paid me at that point.

Can I RSVP now, but wait to pay?
Yes. As long as I receive your payment by the deadline there shouldn't be a problem. And it will actually help others gauge the interest in this event if you sign up right away. However, if the event fills up, I will remove the RSVPs of people who haven't paid so that others who are interested can attend. (RSVPs can be changed until the payment deadline, if necessary.)

Why can't I RSVP as a 'maybe'?
Meetup.com counts 'maybe' RSVPs as part of the total attending. Since this event has a maximum number, 'maybe' RSVPs could prevent someone else from going. I've made repeated suggestions for them to change the way they count 'maybe' RSVPs, but until they update their software, I won't include the 'maybe' option for events that have a maximum number.

What about kids?
Kids are welcome, but pay full price. Exception: Small children who will only nibble off of your plate can attend at no charge. Please include all children (for space) when RSVPing.

This is a vegetarian group. Why is the dinner vegan?
As a vegetarian, it's not unusual for me to be at an event where there is little (or nothing) for me to eat. This group has members who are vegetarian, vegan, and just interested (among others). Everyone is welcome. I think it's important for our events to have a menu that not only has something for everyone, but where everyone can eat everything.

From Imperial Garden: We are making the eggrolls vegan for your group. We can always make them with a little advance notice. We are also making the mooshu vegan and can do that whenever people order as our entrees are always cooked fresh. The other dishes are naturally vegan.

Dave, can you please find out for us which items are already vegan, and which ones need to be ordered a certain way? If they have vegan eggrolls ordinarily, I'm gonna be a happy girl.

I loved the food, and so did my husband! It was wonderful, the staff was very friendly and accomodating, and we'll be back!
    •  Awesome food and great company!
    •  This was my first meeting and I had a great time! Enjoyed conversations with fellow vegans/vegetarians. Lots of interesting people of all ages with diverse backgrounds . . . makes for great conversation! Dave knows how to organize meetings well; he obviously pays attention to details. Also, the food was well-prepared and quite delicious. Especially enjoyed the tofu entree. The vegetables were just right. Presentation very appealing.

Really great. This was my first met-up with this group, and everyone was very open and welcoming.
    •  There is a very small window for properly cooked vegetables, and Imperial Garden got it just right. The food was delicious, wonderfully prepared, and beautifully presented.

My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised on how good and plentiful the meal was that night. We are trying to be vegetarians so going "vegan" was kind of new to us which is why we were doubly surprised by how good everything was. We stayed late and spoke to the restaurant manager/owner(?) and she told us that everything we had that night except for the mu shu which did not contain egg (just for us) was on the regular menu. We thanked her for that information and told her that we would be back to try those same dishes another time.
    •  The meal was a little late in starting.
