Hike & Picnic Lunch at Ferry Bluff

Join us for a hike and picnic lunch at The Ferry Bluff State Natural Area. It's located a few minutes from downtown Sauk City (about 35 miles northwest of Madison).

There's a parking area at the base of the trail. We'll meet there at noon, hike up the trail to the bluff that overlooks the Wisconsin River (Cactus Bluff), and enjoy a picnic lunch (everyone brings their own).

Before the event I'll provide more logistical details (including carpooling options) to those who RSVP.

This event does not include any extreme hiking. It's about 10-15 minutes of hilly walking (each way) through the woods.

There is no charge to attend this event.

What about kids?
Kids of all ages are welcome. Just make sure any kids you bring can hike the trail or be carried by you. Also be aware that there is a 300-foot bluff we'll be near.

What to bring:
Everyone is responsible for bringing their own lunch and plenty of water. You might also want to take along a blanket, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a camera.

What if it rains?
Unless there's a big storm, we'll meet as planned.

Just want to comment that I WISH I were joining you on this most perfect of days!! Unfortunately I have to hole up in my basement office to work on a book for a end of year 4th grade school project. Enjoy the view!!!

Would be interested in car-pooling. I live about ten minutes from East Towne.

I really do like hiking! Do not have a car, so am wondering if someone could possibly offer a ride and I could pitch in a little gas money. I live on the northeast of madison. Best regards, Susan

Sounds like a blast, but I work on Saturdays. Fortunately, it'll be every other Sat starting in July, so hopefully there will be another event like this.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
