Salad
House salad with lemon and olive oil dressing. (gluten free)

Soup
Adas Majroush. A hearty homemade split yellow pea soup, topped with special spices. (gluten free)

Entrees
Spinach Pie. Spinach, chopped onions, and walnuts layered in thin dough and baked. Served with tabbouleh.

Zucchini Stew. Fresh zucchini sauteed in olive oil with tomatoes, onions, garlic, and dry mint. (gluten free)

Fool Moudamas. Fava beans and garbanzo beans cooked with lemon sauce and topped with tomato, onions, and olive oil. (gluten free)

Dessert
Baklava. Sweet pastry made of layers of filo filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup. Does not contain honey. (gluten free)

Drinks
Tea, coffee, and soda are included. Beer and wine will be available for an additional charge.

The $15.00 fee includes the tax, tip, and everything mentioned above (except the noted beverages). That breaks down to about $11.00 for the meal, plus tax, tip, and a little to cover the meetup.com and PayPal fees.

RSVP/Payment Info:
Pre-payment is required to RSVP (see exception below). Meetup.com automates this process when you pay via PayPal. If you want to pay by check, contact me and I will give you my mailing address. I will manually update your RSVP as soon as I receive your request, but since our events fill up quickly, out of fairness to other group members I will remove the RSVP if the check is not received within four business days.

Special honor system exception: If you have been in the group for a while and have a history of attending and paying for events without any problems you can contact me about paying me at the event. This accommodation is provided as a convenience -- you are still responsible for paying even if you do not attend.

Important Note: I will manually update the RSVPs of people who pay by check or use the honor system, but it's possible the event will fill up before I check my email. If that happens I will add you to the waiting list.

Fee Disclosure:
The $15.00 fee includes a little extra to cover PayPal's fees (74 cents) as well as Meetup.com's $144 annual cost.

Refund Policy:
If you cancel on or before Friday, December 7th you will get a full refund. There are no refunds for cancellations after the deadline or if you do not show up to the event. If something comes up at the last minute you are welcome to find someone else to attend instead of you. The reason refunds are not given after the deadline is that I agree to pay for everyone who has paid me at that point.

What about kids?
Kids are welcome, but pay full price. However, young children who will only nibble off of your plate can attend at no charge. Please note in the comment section of your RSVP if kids will be joining you.

This is a vegetarian group. Why is the dinner vegan?
This group has members who are vegetarian, vegan, and just interested. Everyone is welcome. I think it's important for our events to have a menu that not only has something for everyone, but where everyone can eat everything.

The food was excellent, especially the soup, and there was plenty of everything. I liked that it it was served buffet-style. There was a nice variety of dishes and drinks.

If anyone is interested in ride sharing, let me know. I am on the near east side of Madison and could drive a car or catch a ride (I don't mind biking a few miles to a meeting spot).
