DC VegFest! FREE Outdoor Festival,100 Exhibitors

Did you miss Rehoboth VegFest? Or do you just wish there was another one you could go to? Well, DC VegFest is coming up in September, and it is AWESOME!
Worth a drive over the Bay Bridge. You can easily take Metro - just leave your car at the New Carrollton Metro (Rt 50 and the Beltway), and ride in from there! Or, carpool with friends or some of us from our Meetup group.

DC VegFest is a super-fun day, packed with all kinds of interesting exhibits, cooking demos, inspiring speakers, and absolutely amazing veg food. It's presented by the national non-profit Compassion Over Killing; it takes place at the beautiful nearby-waterfront Yards Park (right next to Nationals Stadium), and the whole place just buzzes with fun and excitement!

The beloved bakery Vegan Treats (from Pennsylvania) is a sponsor, people always line up to get their cakes, donuts, cakes, Whoppie Pies, etc. They're some of the very best sweets anywhere! And we love the cupcakes and other sweets from BakeShop too - get some of each!

And that doesn't begin to mention all the other food...WOW! From Mango Grove to Pete's Apizza, from Randy Radish to Sunrise Caribbean Cuisine, you will get to try an amazing variety of flavors and tastes..all completely free of animal-products.

And there's so much more.. read about the outstanding speakers and get complete directions at:

It's fantastic that 9 of us plan to go! I know we'll all be on our own schedules, but if anyone wants to connect for a short while, we could meet at the Speakers Tent at 12 Noon. The wonderful Ruby will be giving her Cooking Demo then - she starts at 11:35. Then, don't miss Paul Shapiro! His talk starts at 12:20 -it's titled "From The Margins to the Mainstream - Veg Eating in America."
Paul is AWESOME - I can't wait to hear his presentation! For the full schedule of Events all day long, it's here:

ps...and if you want to buy some of the mouthwatering desserts and pastries from Vegan Treats, go there first. Their baked goods are revered up and down the East Coast - and they always sell out fast!
