Help the Vegetarian Society of DC celebrate and promote Earth Day 2009 on the National Mall in DC. The event expects to attract 200,000 people, bringing together families, adults of all ages, civic leaders, entertainers and other community members to celebrate Earth Day and share a common commitment to make greener life choices and stem the tide of climate change. VSDC will focus on the powerful environmental reasons to go vegan with resources and guidance to make and support the change.
This is another fantastic opportunity in DC to reach many thousands of environmnentally conscious people. About 12 volunteers are needed to assist for 2 hours each, from 11am-1pm (2 needed), 12-2 pm (2 needed), 2-4 pm (3 needed), 4-6 pm (3 needed), 6-7 pm (2 needed). The core tabling hours are 12-6 pm. VSDC volunteers will hand out literature, answer questions, and present a positive image. No specific skills or knowledge are required.
Please volunteer your time by signing up here by Thurs 9 pm (16 April) and indicate time preference. More specific information will be emailed by Fri afternoon to those who sign up.
