Discuss "Vegan Monologues" with the VSDC Book Club

  • Nov 22, 2009 · 12:00 PM

The VSDC Book Club has invited author Ben Shaberman to join for this special meeting to discuss his collection of essays "Vegan Monologues." To participate just read the book -- and RSVP at least two days before the meeting.

Vegan Monologues, a series of essays that have been published by the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, VegNews, NRP and others, presents humorous snippets about life as a vegan, but also covers much more ground. From social absurdities to his own foibles, Ben's reflections have something to say to everyone. We will meet at noon for lunch on Sunday, November 22, instead of our usual Wednesday night meetings. People who RSVP "yes" will get the location information. For more details contact Beth through meet up. For more information about the book club (including everything we've read over 17 years!) visit www.vsdc.org/book.html.

"Vegan Monologues" is an excellent book, and it was great to have the author join us in the discussion. The Sunday time slot was perfect for us. We are generally not great fans of Indian food, but the location and setting were very nice, the volunteer wait staff were wonderful, and we enjoyed the event.

The author was there which made the event extra special! He answered questions, told us how the book came about, and read a new essay he had written. The venue, Karma Kitchen, was a great place to have the event. The whole experience was wonderful...thanks Beth for organizing!!!
