VSDC African American Networking - "42" Jackie Robinson Story a Movie Event

You are invited to join the Vegetarian Society of DC African American Networking Group’s (AANG) Movie Trip to see “The Jackie Robinson Story.”

Synopsis In 1946, Branch Rickey put himself at the forefront of history when he signed Jackie Robinson to the team, breaking Major League Baseball's infamous color line. But the deal also put both Robinson and Rickey in the firing line of the public, the press and even other players. Facing unabashed racism from every side, Robinson was forced to demonstrate tremendous courage and restraint by not reacting in kind, knowing that any incident could destroy his and Rickey's hopes. Instead, Number 42 let his talent on the field do the talking -- ultimately winning over fans and his teammates, silencing his critics, and paving the way for others to follow.

loved the movie, loved the meetup group, they were friendly and outgoing. Nice seeing members that I had met before. The thrill of evacuating the movie, because of the fire alarm going off. The event had all the elements of an exciting evening. We even received a free ticket for another movie. Hey, how can you beat that? I enjoyed working with EJ and Theresa they did an outstanding job anchoring the group in that crowded gallery lobby. and making the event successful. I'm looking forward to the next event.

You could also start a discussion here and another option is to reach out to other Meetups that focus on African centric events to see if they would would like to collaborate on joint meetup

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
