Karma Kitchen is pleased to invite VSDC to an all-vegan meal on Sunday, October 18th! Karma Kitchen is an experiment in generosity that moves us all towards incorporating kindness and compassion into our lives. Run mostly by volunteers each week, our meals are cooked and served with love, and offered to the guest as a genuine gift. To complete the full circle of giving and to sustain this experiment, we leave it to the guest to pay it forward, expressing their goodness in whatever way they wish. One immediate option is to contribute toward the cost of serving a future guest. In keeping this chain going, the generosity of both guests and volunteers helps to create a future that moves from transaction to trust, from self-oriented isolation to shared commitment, and from fear of scarcity to a celebration of abundance.
Inspired by similar cafes in India and California, Karma Kitchen DC started on February 15, 2009, and has served vegetarian meals every Sunday since then. For this special day the menu will be all vegan.

This was an extroardinary opportunity to meet other members of the vegetarian/vegan community and talk shop. The food was excellent as was the spirit of the affair. This is the first, and certainly not the last time I will be involved with Karma Kitchen!

The lunch, company and conversation were all first rate. It was wonderful to have a meal with so many vegans & vegetarians.

Great food, wonderful company. After lunch socializing with a small group of friends at a coffee house was a very relaxing way to spend the Sunday afternoon.

It was not really a meeting, just a restaurant invitation, and one could not even choose a dish - the menu was fixed. I still hope to get to know veg*s in DC personally. Till the next time!
