Green Festival and VSDC Tabling (Sun)

  • Oct 11, 2009 · 11:00 AM
  • Washington DC Convention Center

We encourage all Meetup members to come out and enjoy the Washington DC Green Festival! The Green Festival seeks to unite green enterprises, social and environmental groups, and thousands of community members (they expect over 30,000 people) in a lively exchange of ideas, commerce, and movement building. We expect all food vendors to feature food that is fully vegetarian and sustainable, while encouraging them to be vegan.

VSDC will have an informational booth at this outstanding 2-day event. It will be held at the Washington DC Convention Center at 801 Mount Vernon Place in NW DC (Mt Vernon Square Metro Station on the green/yellow lines) in Exhibit Hall D&E. [UPDATE: We're all set with volunteers now. THANKS all!]
PLEASE help us staff the VSDC table for a 2 hour timeslot on Sunday (the hours are 11 am to 6 pm). As a small token of our appreciation, you can receive free admission to the event. Please email [masked] ASAP (and preferably before Mon Oct 5th by 5 pm) and provide your name, email, phone number, and preferable timing. Someone will contact you promptly to confirm. THANK YOU.

The Washington DC Green Festival™ (a joint project of Global Exchange and Green America) celebrates what’s working in our communities—across the District, Maryland and Virginia—for people, for business, and for the environment. You’ll enjoy more than 125 renowned speakers and 350 green businesses (start your holiday shopping now!), great how-to workshops, green films, a Fair Trade pavilion, yoga classes, delicious organic cuisine and beverages, and live music. Find out about DC environmental initiatives; and learn how neighbors, community nonprofits, and city departments are working together to make our area a healthier place to live. For more info, see:
