VSDC Table at NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo

  • Washington DC Convention Center

The annual NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo will be held on Saturday January 16th and Sunday January 17th at the Washington Convention Center, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The educational and fun-filled event will include free health tests, screenings, food and other demonstrations, and fun activities. For more details about the overall event, see www.nbc4.com/healthandfitnessexpo/index.html. This is one of VSDC’s most exciting tabling events where we reach thousands of people. We need about 15 volunteers to assist us over the weekend for 2 or 3 hour time slots. VSDC volunteers hand out literature, answer questions, sell books, and present a positive image. No specific skills or knowledge are required. Please volunteer your time by emailing [masked] or calling the Veg Line at[masked]-VEGY (box #2) at least 1 week in advance; include your name, day and time you prefer to volunteer, and contact information (email and/or phone number). VSDC will reply as soon as possible. Please do not offer to volunteer only by posting a note on the Meetup site.

I was definitely more experienced this year than I was last year! It was very rewarding to give people information about vegetarian diets and the most amazing was this 14-year-old boy who told me he's vegan (and I think his parents are too).

Great event, lots of people, VSDC table was located at a very nice location. But VSDC was not well organized. After John and Vania left, I was the only person till 12:30 pm. Nellie came in at 12:30 pm. During this time, I ran out of several pamphlets, leaflets, etc. I couldn't even go over to COK to get some replacements! And the crowd was overwhelming. Then I had to leave Nellie alone at the table after 12:45 pm. We should be a little more organized.

This was a fun and meaningful way to get the word out about VSDC. I had a great time!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
