VSDC Restaurant Visit - Spice Xing

VSDC is looking forward to spending another evening enjoying vegan food with old and new friends alike.

Restaurant: Spice Xing serves contemporary Indian cuisine and dishes influenced by foreign cultures. The menu selection offers a wide range of small tasting plates, as well as an assortment of curry entrees. This highly-rated restaurant serves a number of vegan dishes, including vegan flatbread, in a colorful and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant also has a full bar. http://www.spicexing.com/

RSVPs: Since reservations are based on the number of RSVP’s, please do not RSVP “YES” unless you are sure you will attend. Please be considerate of the restaurant, VSDC, and the others who want to attend by changing your RSVP if you are no longer able to come. The restaurant sets aside seating based on the RSVP’s, and it hurts the restaurant and VSDC when people do not show up.

VSDC will check people in as they arrive at the restaurant and only those who have RSVP’d “YES” will be permitted to sit with the group.

Waiting List: If the RSVP’s are full, please sign up for the waiting list if you are interested in attending. Those on the waiting list will be automatically moved up when someone changes their RSVP.

Payment: The restaurant will provide checks for small groups of people, so please bring cash and be prepared to split the bill to pay for your own food and drink, remembering to include tax and tip (suggested rule of thumb 30%).

Metro station: Spice Xing is located in the Rockville Town Square, with ample parking and is a few blocks the Rockville metro station (red line).

Accessibility: We want to ensure that everyone can enjoy our events. Please email the event coordinators if you need accommodations for a physical disability.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, this event may be cancelled so please check your email beforehand.

*Please help VSDC continue to host these monthly restaurant visits and other events by becoming a member of VSDC or renewing your membership online. I lived in this neighborhood when they first opened over four years ago and, at that time, they only had one side dish that didn't have dairy in it (or some other non-vegan ingredient). And I'm pretty sure they also didn't have any vegan main entrees.
I'm glad to hear that they have come around.
Please let us know how you liked it as I would love to go back. Although this time I will have to travel to get there.

Hi Trudy - you'll have to make your way back there again! They have eight vegan entrees, and a number of vegan appetizers, including wheat bread. Good stuff! :-)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
