VSDC Table for the Capital Pride Festival

Help the Vegetarian Society of DC celebrate and support the Capital Pride Festival in DC. This landmark event brings over 250,000 visitors to Pennsylvania Avenue for a day filled with fun, friends, supportive organizations, information, education, and live performances. Three stages of entertainment and the addition of a Family Section for those with children will be organized. VSDC will demonstrate our commitment and outreach to the GLBT community and highlight the VSDC Veg Out Group. We'll also focus on the powerful reasons to go vegan with resources and guidance to make and support the change. We'll also have some items for sale. This is another fantastic opportunity in DC to reach many thousands of progressive people. About 10-12 volunteers are needed to assist for 2-3 hours each, from 10am - 7pm (including setup and breakdown). The core tabling hours are 11am - 6pm. VSDC volunteers will hand out literature, answer questions, and present a positive image. No specific skills or knowledge are required. Please volunteer your time by signing up here by Thursday, June 10 at 5pm and indicate time preference. More specific information will be emailed by Saturday morning to those who sign up. See Capital Pride Festival for more general information.

Well, we got quite a few people who were interested in the group, but I think it would also be good to have more freebies available, such as stickers and some food possibly. Yes, food gets expensive, but imagine how many peple we could hook with (mini) vegan cookies!
