VSDC Book Club discusses "The Genius of Dogs"

  • This location is shown only to members

Please join the Vegetarian Society of DC Book Club discussion of The Genius of Dogs: How Dogs Are Smarter than You Think by Brian Hare and Vanessa Woods.

Participants must read at least half the book -- and RSVP at least two days before the meeting.

“Here at last is a book that digs deep into cognitive science to unravel the mysteries of the canine brain. Thoroughly researched and written in the likable voice of a brainy scientist…”—John Grogan, author, Marley & Me

This meeting takes place at Soupergirl, an all-vegan restaurant with delicious soups, salads, and more. Across the street from the Takoma metro. Everyone orders on their own and pays directly to the restaurant. For more details contact Beth through meet up. For more information about the book club (including everything we have read over 22 years!) visit http://www.vsdc.org/book.html

Be considerate...if your plans change, PLEASE update your RSVP!

Here's that Find-the-Pit-Bull test I was talking about last night: http://www.understand-a-bull.com/Findthebull/findpitbull_v4.html

Upon Googling to find it, I see there's another one a lot like it that's a one-pager:

I didn't finish half the book, I'm sorry I can't join you. I am enjoying it so far and will finish it, but not by tomorrow :-) Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time for liesure reading these days. Thank you!

I'm sorry that I haven't finished enough of the book to come on Wednesday. Not sure what I think of the book yet, but I'll really miss Soupergirl!

My cat and I haven't finished enough yet. I think the cat might have something against me reading a dog book.

Any chance I could bring an actual dog?

    June 20, 2014

    • Beth

No (except for a true service dog).

Just got the book, looking forward to joining you all. So, was anyone else tickled by the fact that this genius dog book was written by a (presumably person named) hare? ;)
