In honor of Earth Day, VSDC will be participating in the 2nd Annual Takoma Park Earth Day Festival! This free community event will take place on Sun, April 27 from 10am - 4pm, and will be centered on green solutions. VSDC is pleased to take part in this great opportunity to connect vegan lifestyles to environmental sustainability.
We are looking for volunteers to help with booth setup and outreach, promoting the environmental (and other) benefits of veg*n diets, and selling books and memberships. The event will be rain or shine, and we are planning to have a canopy, but come prepared in any case. Please join us, and when you RSVP, answer the questions that ask for your first and last name, email address, and phone number (this info will be visible only to organizers), and indicate which shift(s) are most appealing:
9:30 am - 11:00 am Setup and early morning (will involve some lifting and carrying)
11:00 am - 1:00 pm Midday
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Early afternoon
3:00 pm - 4:45 pm Afternoon and booth takedown (will involve some lifting and carrying)
We really need help with transporting materials to the event (~9am) and also returning materials after the event is over (~445 pm). All the volunteer scheduling and coordination will take place by email, so be sure to answer all the questions and keep an eye on your inbox.
This event will take place - rain or shine - in the City Parking Lot next to the TPSS Co-op, 201 Ethan Allen Avenue.
The location is a 10-15 min walk from Takoma Metro.
Consumers can take advantage of “one-stop shop” to find out about the latest eco- friendly products, services, and initiatives.
