I'm about 99% vegan. I have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy on baked goods sometimes, and I'll sell out for the Veggie Patty at Subway when I'm in a rush... and I don't avoid sugar or honey (but don't buy honey, either). I'll also wear used leather footwear if people hand it down to me, but I'd never buy it.
I've been vegetarian since 1992 and vegan since around 1995 -- initially for health and environmental reasons, but now also for the animals.
Since August 2008. Moved here from Philadelphia for law school. Living in SW DC now, right by the Waterfront metro stop.
I founded and run a small national environmental justice group called Energy Justice Network, which helps community groups fight off dirty energy and waste facilities. I've taught "Milk Does Nobody Good" workshops, converting folks to veg*nism.
