This will take place outdoors in Battery Park near Poets House. Will provide a cell phone number for you to text upon arrival.
Bring in your favorite Vegan dish and share with fellow MeetUp members. Heck, eating out can get expensive so if price has been holding you back from joining past MeetUps then join us for this afternoon of fun.
We've heard to much about your boyfriend/ girlfriend/ spouse/ kids/ dog and would love to meet him/her/them.
It's potluck time which means...
- budget friendly ( no need to spend more than $5)
- inspirational (you ladies have some crazy recipes)
- educational ( a great opportunity to discover new foods)
- delicious (there's always leftovers)
- freaking fun!
How it works:
Everyone is asked to bring a dish to serve 6 people (you can totally cut 3 sandwiches in half which makes 6 servings).
If you aren't into cooking, why not pick up some ready made cookies, salad, or other prepackaged vegan friendly food. You can also bring a blanket for others to sit on.
Because we will be outdoors we can not display alcohol bottles ( we don't care what's in your water bottle).
It's totally okay to bring eco friendly plates or eating utensils (I'll have a bunch of stuff, but the less stuff to throw away the better).
If you aren't a cook and don't want to buy anything, then simply show up, grab a plate, and pay $5. The $5 will go to a vegan friendly charity that the group agrees upon (in the past we've donated to Farm Sanctuary).
We do not have a limit on the number of attendees for this event (legally more than 25 people requires a permit, but we can just have two separate picnic spots if we really have to) so I'm hoping that this will be our biggest turnout yet!
Hey, mom members, stop stressing about a babysitter and bring those kids. Is your other half jealous of your food adventures? Well, bring them. Been trying to get your friend to go Vegan? Bring your friend. The more the merrier.
1 week in advance we will email everyone who has RSVP'd yes to find out what dish you are bringing (last spring there were a lot of cookies).
