Welcome to the Vegan Outdoor and Adventure Group! Meet with fellow Vegans who enjoy the outdoors and adventure. Activities include but are not limited to: hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking, snowshoeing, and any other activities that members care to participate in.
Definition of Vegetarian:
From Vegsoc.org: We define a vegetarian as someone living on a diet of grains, pulses, nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruits, with or without the use of dairy products and eggs. A vegetarian does not eat any meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, or slaughter by-products.
Definition of Vegan:
From Vegan.org: What is a VEGAN? A vegan (pronounced VEE-gun) is someone who, for various reasons, chooses to avoid using or consuming animal products. While vegetarians choose not to use flesh foods, vegans also avoid dairy and eggs, as well as fur, leather, wool, down, and cosmetics or chemical products tested on animals.
What is the difference? Vegetarian is strictly about dietary choices, vegans avoid all animal products.
Why a Vegan Outdoor Group?
Active Vegans know the challenges of finding veggie friendly trips and events. In omni groups, meals can be interesting at best, not to mention the use of leather, wool and other animal products. A Vegan Outdoor and Adventure Group lets us enjoy the activities we love with the comfort and support of the Vegan community.
Is this group only for Vegans?
We offer a variety of different trips and events. For our Vegetarian trips we ask that participants avoid eating any animal products, so no meat, dairy or eggs in foods brought to the event. For Vegan trips we may limit participation, please check the trip description for details.

Let's hike on Sunday. I would like to walk Mesa trail starting at Doudy Draw Trailhead. It will probably be snowy and muddy, so please bring appropriate footwear (and maybe an extra pair of socks depending on the weather). We will walk for about three hours. This is a medium hike, with no super hard inclines. Read more
