What does Vegan Spirituality mean to you?

I am one with the universe and share the same space and time on the planet as all the other creatures who dwell here. We all have souls and are part of the Cosmic Consciousness.

How do you practice Vegan Spirituality?

My spiritual beliefs are grounded in the Hindu practice of AHIMSA (no harm) and the 1st Buddhist precept I WILL HARM NO BEING. This includes not wearing animal products such as leather or wool from countries that shear the sheep by muesling, cutting deep into the skin of the sheep. I;m also a longtime supporter of several animal rights organizations. As Gandhi said, a nation s greatness is reflected in how it treats its animals. I also practice Shaminism with its animal guardians and guides. I practice aspects and rituals of both Hinduism and Buddhism. I keep up on the laws governing farm and other animals and contribute to several animal rights groups, shelters and sanctuaries.

What drew you to this group?

I would like to be in the company of people who don't partake in the suffering of animals and be able to eat at a table without something dead in front of me.

What would you like to experience as part of this group? (support, community, comradery)

I'd like to spend time with people who don't regard me as a lunatic because I don;t eat meat

What discussion topics interest you?

spirituality and ethics, how we can live better, more humane and meaningful lives whilw we;re here together on earth

Introduction

Namaste! My name is Marian.I;m actually more vegetarian than vegan, but I think I could easily join this group. What I consume has more to do with my spiritual and ethical perspective than health. It's one part of my thole identity and daily living.
