Finally, Veg Movie Nights returns from beyond the grave! Sorry for the short notice - zombies don't schedule their return in advance. And the film shall be...Monty Python and the Holy Grail! Possibly followed by special bonus features from the extra special edition DVD, or other Python-related materials. If you aren't aware of the film, I must warn you that orgiastic bouts of quoting may result. You have been warned! Food will be potluck style, though I will provide some food and refreshment. Please try to bring something vegan to contribute - snacks, real food, booze, or whatever else you like, as long as it's legal and not an animal part. (Note: I'd like all food present be vegan so everyone can eat it, but if you have to bring something that's not vegan, we'll mark it with a scarlet letter or do something else to set it apart from vegan food.) (Note to the above note: If you bring something that's not even vegetarian, we may have to give you the scarlet letter instead!) See you there! Note: my apartment buzzer isn't very reliable, please call if you don't get an answer that way -------------------- ----------- About the Film: Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a documentary created by a famous historian known only as Frank, a man slain by the very subject he studied. Nevertheless, Frank's historical film of King Arthur and his knights lives on, treated by historians everywhere as primary documents of ancient British history. This film revelas reveal a side of the quest for the holy grail that was never captured in any legends, no matter how Arthurian they tried to be. Following the later exploits of the king of the Britons and defeater of the Saxons, Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, up until his unfortunate arrest during the Siege of the Castle Aaargh, which decided the battle in favor of the French and ended Arthur's reign in a single crushing blow to the British. The world always has and always shall treasure the Holy Grail, this singular film, this brilliant and stunning documentary, accurate beyond dispute, the like of which has never been seen before or since. Amen. (Note: The factual accuracy of this movie description is not guaranteed, and is in fact highly suspect.) Actually about the film: Monty Python and the Holy Grail is possibly one of the most frequently, obnoxiously quoted films of all time, and we have British comedy troupe Monty Python to blame - thank - for it. This may be because it's one of the funniest films of all time - who can forget lines like "the" and "and"? If you don't know it, you should. If you do know it, I don't have to explain why you want to see it again!

There will be cupcakes. Awesome! There will be booze (and non-booze drinks). Awesome! There will be board games and other crazy improv games that we make up. Awesome! There will be Nick! Awesome! And you will be there! Double awesome! So here are the details. Party at our house (824 NW 51st Street, in Ballard, it's a townhouse behind the house marked 828). Friday, January 30, beginning at 7 PM. Kids are welcome, but as the night goes on and the booze flows, language might get a little salty, so be warned. Questions? Email me at alesiecki@gmail.com or call 206-323-1968. What should you bring? Yourself! And a friend! And your cousin! And your friend's cousin! The more the merrier. If you wish to bring food or beverages (TOTALLY NOT REQUIRED), please make sure your dish is vegan (no meat/dairy/eggs). A note for those with allergies--we have cats. They are friendly but will probably hide throughout most of the party. RSVP-ing isn't required, but it'd be nice to get a general idea of how many people are coming so I can have enough food and drink ready for this TOTALLY AWESOME party. Be there or be square. -Anna

Anyhow, look forward to seeing you guys, I should be getting Pizza Pi goodies, so email me if you have any favorite toppings from there! Bring some food or drink if you can, but feel free to come just with yourself! Call me if you get lost or can't find anywhere to park. Sarah

Just knock on the door when you arrive. Feel free to give me a call if you need help with directions or anything. Bring snacks if you can, but if you're broke or lazy then no big deal, there will be plenty of food. The plan is to watch Labyrinth and possibly play a game or something, but if anyone has a film they'd prefer just let me know! I do have a small dog, so if you're allergic... sorry!
