Vegan and Vegetarian Girls MeetUp Message Board › 2013 Mercy For Animals Volunteer Opportunities!!
I got the email below from Michael Nielsen Mercy For Animals' volunteer coordinator. I am forwarding it to all you Vikas in hope you can lend a hand to the animal welfare community this year! Let's make 2013 the most compassionate year yet!!:0
Happy New Year MFA Volunteers,
I hope that 2013 is off to a great start for you. Thanks in part to our wonderful volunteers, like yourself, 2012 was another record year for Mercy For Animals. If you haven't already, check out our Year In Review video here.
But now it's time to get going with 2013. This year, a lot of our leafleting and Paid-Per-View efforts in the city and suburbs will be lead by our Chicago Leafleting Coordinator, Leslie Patterson. Please reach out to her (email@example.com) if you can help and she will keep you in the loop. We will also be sending out regular emails with upcoming leafleting and PPV events. Or if you want to set up your own leafleting event, we can assist with that too. The average person eats about 50 farmed animals per year (about 27 land animals, and dozens of aquatic animals), adding up to thousands in a lifetime. Leafleting with literature on factory farming and showing our 4-minute version of the powerful documentary Farm to Fridge has been proven effective in creating new vegans and vegetarians, and convincing others to reduce their consumption of animal products. By educating the public about animals suffering on factory farms, we can inspire others to spare thousands, if not millions, of animals and ultimately create a more compassionate society.
We will have other outreach opportunities coming up and we will let you know about those as they develop. Stay tuned!!
Thanks for continuing to be a voice for the voiceless and let's make 2013 another great year for the animals. Thank you!
