I would like to thank Smollin to set up the very first meet up for this group. I do, however, want to have another meet up on the 29th of April. I am temporary helping Michael, the owner of New Bodai Vegetarian for 2 months and he agrees to let me host meet ups there.
For this event, I will use their big screen for a showing of "Vegudated", a dcoumentary film for vegetarian/veganism. After the film dim sum will be served and a drink will be included. All members of this meet up will received 10% off anytime they visit this restaurant as long as I am there. If you are interested in meeting other like-minded vegans or vegetarians, as well as watching this documentary film which is not shown in the theaters, you should be interested in this event!
"Vegucated" is an award winning documentary that follows three meat and chesse loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. Lured by true tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover the hidden sides of animal agriculture that make them wonder whether solutions offered in films like Food, Inc. go far enough. Before long, they find themselves risking everything to expose an industry they supported just weeks before.
This accessible, entertaining documentary showcases the rapid and at times comedic evolution of 3 people who share one journey and ultimately discover their own paths in creating a kinder, cleaner, greener world, one bite at a time.
