My ex-wife went vegan first. I resisted for a while, thinking I might be able to eat "happy meat" and "happy dairy". As I ate my McDonald's double cheeseburgers, I always felt a sense of guilt, but I thought it didn't matter too much since I was just one person. I finally gave up meat, knowing I needed to put my actions in line with my core values. I still cheated a little as I continued to eat McDonald's sundaes. Finally, I watched Earthlings, which ultimately pushed me over the edge into full-on veganism. Since then, my dedication and compassion for all living creatures has grown exponentially. I'm now beginning my journey into activism and education, having realized this is my true passion in life.
Anywhere in the Triangle area.
Leafletting, tabling, sanctuary work... pretty much anything where we're not just talking about how delicious vegan food is.
I've been vegan since 2010 and involved in the animal liberation movement ever since. I've met some great folks through Vegan Carolina and would encourage anyone exploring veganism or animal rights activism to come out and join us!
Great group, great people! Come join us.
