This is our monthly dinner meet-up at the Loving Hut, every 4th Thursday evening of the month. It is located inside the Dayton Mall (food court).

the Loving Hut is part of an international VEGAN cafe restaurant chain - our Dayton venue is in the Food Court at the Dayton Mall. It part of the same chain as the Loving Cafe restaurant down in Cincinnati but franchised /owned by different people and each Loving Hut has their own unique menu.

Loving Hut owners often base their Vegan diet on the teaching of Master Ching Hai - a Vietnamese spiritual leader "with a vision that all beings could live in peace, love and harmony with each other and the planet".

I'm not able to make the meetup, but I am curious about this place. I was reading reviews and a lot of people complained about bad service and mediocre food. From your experience do you think they just came on a bad day or is there quite a bit of room for improvement? Just wondered what some others think.

  I had bad service and my jasmin rice was overcooked. Could have been a bad day for me, so I'm willing to give them another shot

  They definitely have room for improvement. I've had 90% good experience there. Occasionally something is overcooked. The service is kind of slow, but it's because they make most things to order and usually only have 1 person working.

  They do sometimes get behind or lack perfect service - theyve gone thru some Staff changes and lost a couple of really good workers that moved away. Also, the owners work other jobsjust in case you didnt know, Mindy, this is a food court vendor, not a restaurant.... So you can't expect as much really :-/

This group is for ALL people who want to EAT better, FEEL better, BE healthier, and LIVE compassionate lifestyles while supporting a healthy planet with environmentally sound food choices.

..... whether already vegan or aspiring to get there "some day" ...or just curious about a more comassionate, healthy way of living - you should join us!! If you want to meet other fun, kind, compassionate and health conscious people - this is the group for you.

The focus of this group is to promote a vegan lifestyle - therefore all food consumed during events will be vegan. But, we will NOT judge or pressure anyone because they are not vegan. We want to give informative support and kindness - we know that each individual must make their own journey in their own way.

Our goal is to have fun together and make new friends while leading a cruelty-free lifestyle. We meet at local restaurants or other venues to eat, but will also plan educational, cooking and activist events as well. We exist to support our members in their efforts to live a more compassionate, healthy, ecologically sound lifestyle and to build a strong community of people who share these values in the Dayton area.

Vegans do not eat or wear animal products such as animal flesh, dairy, eggs, leather or wool. Honey is not technically vegan, but many otherwise vegan people eat it. Being vegan is not as hard as it sounds and it has many advantages for your health, for the animals (ESPECIALLY Cows and chickens), and for the environment.

Also... there is no required membership fee.... but Donations are definitely welcome - used to help cover yearly expenses from the Meetup.com website provider.
