You are cordially invited to come relax and enjoy the End of Summer Potluck at the home of one of our VLC members -- meet at 5 PM & eat at 5:30 PM.  The directions will be sent to members who RSVP "yes" to this event all in one email the day before.

Please bring a plant-based dish (free of any animal products) to feed at least 10 people (a bit more for each extra adult person on your RSVP) and a recipe card listing ingredients (extra recipes to share, even better).  Also, bring your own plates, bowls, cups, silverware and drinks.

If you need further information please e-mail me directly by clicking on my name on the left side of our Meetup page.

NOTE:  Please don't post this event on FaceBook or other web sites, because the location is a private home. Thank you!

thank you all for your openness to the idea of a routine 'vegan volunteer day' at SAME Café www.soallmayeat.org and at Cafe 180 www.Cafe-180.org Please give me a little space to explore this group volunteer concept with the owners of both. SAME does group volunteers frequently, but a vegan-specific group would be a first tfor them. Have less data about Cafe 180. I will report back. In the meantime, anyone interested can sign up to volunteer individually through either of the websites. SAME uses volunteers for all tasks M-Sa 10a-3p (café open 11a-2p) and Café 180 uses volunteers for all tasks 10a-9p Tu-Sa (café open 11a-8p).

This event is on. Just spoke with our host. They are in a hill and no roads leading to them have a problem. If you can get there, we'll see you soon. They're very much looking forward to having us!

Pouring rain here in Longmont. Supposed to storm again.

Thats ok. I've been driving in the rain all week. Just gotta take it easy. Denver hasn't had any problems from rain or flooding. Also, the event is in a home. If I hear they are having trouble from rain, I'll post here. Otherwise, it should be ok.

I need suggestions please. If I go to Denver for Neat, not going to drive all the way home as traffic for me is sitting on 25 for well over an hour. What could I make/bring that would keep in the car from 10AM until 5PM? I would probably go check out Denver Botanic Gardens, Cherry Creek Mall, a park or something after Neat. Help! :)

Hi AnnE, you might consider going to Neat Market for the last hour then heading down to the potluck. There are malls down that way, so you could kill some time that way or maybe try to work in a movie. Just some thoughts. As for food, you could make something the day before that is good reheated, chill it, bring it in a cooler, then arrive a little early so you can reheat. Or make something that's suppose to be cold (like veggies and dip) or room temp (like cookies) to keep in an ice chest. That's all I got! :-)
