I searched for vegan meetup groups near me.
I've never liked consuming animal products very much; I never liked bacon, or eggs, or seafood, or steak, or milk, etc. I think the only reason I consumed any of that stuff was because it was ubiquitous and seemingly unavoidable; I ate it out of habit more than anything. When I discovered how unethical the meat and dairy industries had become, it was very easy for me to give it all up completely. It's a bonus that it also happens to be a healthier diet, but even if it was a less healthy diet, my conscience would still compel me to be vegan; it would never be acceptable to me to have animals enslaved and tortured for my own selfish pleasure and comfort. Is it poetic justice that people are killing themselves on a diet of tortured flesh? You reap what you sow. That being said, most people are completely ignorant of what's being sown, and it's more the failure of our government that inhumane practices are allowed and widespread.
Anything social, really. Eating, drinking, hiking, dancing, whatever.
Just an average guy looking to meet other vegans.
