How did you hear about "Vegan Life Colorado" meetup group?

From going to the Boulder And Beyond Meet-ups

What made you decide to go vegan or try veganism, and explore a more compassionate, healthy lifestyle (answer as simply or as detailed as you like)?

I was vegetarian off and on for years, ( giving up cows, pigs and sheep 29 years ago, but hanging on to birds and fish, dairy and eggs...) and the light finally dawned after listening to numerous podcasts by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau , and realizing that the cow's dairy and eggs were some of the worst of the worst :) I thought about how I had nursed my own babies and how insulted i was that we are expected to hide our nursing while in public, yet, dairy cows are exploited and even ridiculed for their milk production and udders. I am still embarrassed that it took me soooo long to make the connection that we do not need milk from a cow, and enslaving them for it seemed criminal.

What kind of activities would you like to see the group participate in, if you have anything specific you would like to do (note that our members are welcome to suggest and schedule vegan friendly events for consideration by our organizers)?

I like potlucks and cooking demos.

NOTE: We only require a "YES" RSVP if you plan to attend a gathering. Please don't RSVP "NO" to gatherings you don't plan to attend. "NO" RSVPs only create email for organizers. Only RSVP "NO" when you need to cancel a "YES". Make sense? Thanks!

Yes
