How did you hear about "Vegan Life Colorado" meetup group?

Suggestion from the meetup application.

What draws you to a vegan group? (answer as simply or as detailed as you like)

During a spiritual awakening that started in 2010, I got to a point where I realized that I needed a completely new diet to support my increasing vibrational frequency. At the time I was eating a mostly typical US diet with lots of meat and grains, especially corn, sugar, and beer. On 10/10/10, I started a Master Cleanse, and coming out of it after 15 days, with the help of an integrative physician and fellow spiritual traveler, I created a completely new diet consisting of mostly organic vegan ingredients. One of the major benefits of my changed diet was a virtual elimination of my allergy and asthma symptoms, which I had suffered from since I was a child. Most of the allergens I had been eating were actually plant-based, so in a sense, I went beyond vegan. While I really didn't come into veganism via an animal rights viewpoint, I'm sure that non-participation in animal cruelty has helped to increase my vibrational frequency.

What kind of activities would you like to see the group participate in, if you have anything specific you would like to do (note that our members are welcome to suggest and schedule vegan friendly events for consideration by our organizers)?

The benefits of vegan diets are not well known in the larger US community or even in Colorado. Perhaps there would be a way to create a vegan presence at Taste of Colorado, the Denver County Fair, and the Colorado State Fair. I would also like to see some activity toward promoting vegan and organic food for the less fortunate in our community, and perhaps in the process making vegan and organic eating more affordable.

NOTE: We only require a "YES" RSVP if you plan to attend a gathering. Please don't RSVP "NO" to gatherings you don't plan to attend. "NO" RSVPs only create email for organizers. Only RSVP "NO" when you need to cancel a "YES". Make sense? Thanks!

Introduction

Hi, I'm Fred. I have been mostly vegan for about two years as a result of a spiritual awakening. I sometimes eat products with dairy or egg in order to have community with non-vegan family or friends, but stay vegan otherwise.
