How did you hear about "Vegan Life Colorado" meetup group?

Googling

What made you decide to go vegan or try veganism, and explore a more compassionate, healthy lifestyle (answer as simply or as detailed as you like)?

I've been a veg for twenty years, although I am still edging into veganism. It started out with the realization of how veal calves live there lives and morphed over the years to every other animal that people eat. Factory farming, in particular, is as cruel as it gets. Despite all the evidence that shows its negative impact on the environment, workers rights, the animals (of course) and our health, the government is doing little to address the problem, and in fact only makes it worse by subsidizing the factory farm industry, which has cloaked itself as an agricultural enterprise to escape the laws that apply to other industry - but I am preaching to the choir here.

What kind of activities would you like to see the group participate in, if you have anything specific you would like to do (note that our members are welcome to suggest and schedule vegan friendly events for consideration by our organizers)?

Anything that minimizes harm to animals, whether it be factory farms, rodeos, circuses; anywhere that animals have been enslaved for the benefit of "man." Coming up this session in the legislature is a bill to prevent tail-docking of dairy cattle. Support to end this cruel practice would be appreciated.

NOTE: We only require a "YES" RSVP if you plan to attend a gathering. Please don't RSVP "NO" to gatherings you don't plan to attend. "NO" RSVPs only create email for organizers. Only RSVP "NO" when you need to cancel a "YES". Make sense? Thanks!

Yes.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Roland and I head up the Carnism Awareness Task Force at First Universalist Church of Denver. We want people to know where their food comes from and how it gets to their plate.
