I watched a documentary called Ethos, it was amazing, and amazingly said that the best way to vote is with your wallet, to get change you have to vote for those companies that care about change. The big companies use your money against you...this is how corrupting our corporations are. If you want change vote while you shop.

Maybe, she should delete herself, because of the way meetup sends replies to all.  I too think this auto email thing is a bit tiring,  however, I like to know what is going on..dilemma!

Fine, lets just fill up everyone’s emails with a multitude of one sentence emails and not worry about whether someone might have to work for a living – but still want to stay informed. That is what the discussion board is for on MEET UP.  All you need to do is put the discussion topic on there and those that want to be continually bombarded with emails can set that up for themselves on their meet up page. Those of us that want to go to the discussion board at their own discretion then won’t be bombarded with the emails of those who have too much time on their hands. Please respect the rest of us even if time is not something you have too little of. Thank you. DM

Hi Dia,

I personally like getting these emails, and hearing what others have to share.  I find it informative and reaffirming of community, which is what Meetup is for.

If you don't like them, why don't you just hit the Delete key, or follow the instructions on the Meetup help pages to change your email settings (hyperlinked for your convenience).

Thanks, Thoi

This is my perspective of this all. Yes, vegan specialty items tend to be more expensive and yes they should be cheaper, BUT we can’t expect Walmart prices for high quality items or at least those that support our ethics. I see this as a long term investment. The more we support places like Nooch and others like it, this will help lower the costs over time (because more people will be buying them) and make them more available to a wider group of people. One person will talk about stuff they got from Nooch or the Neat Market and word will spread. If we invest money in places like these, the more of them there will be for our future generations to come. It’s incredibly easy to be cynical about all this and not put our money where our mouths are – to see this as an expense not worth it, in the short term.  The vegan community and beyond is expanding at an incredible rate and having more exclusive vegan shops are needed. Nooch’s founders want it to
be a gathering place for the community, a resource for the curious, to have classes and all sorts of stuff to help support our growing community. How cool would it be to have a couple of these around town – not having to ask around and check ingredients every time you shop for something new? Making veganism easier and more accessible (hopefully lowering prices over time) is desperately needed in our small, but strong vegan community J

Thank you all for your comments and I hope a few of you will help them out.

Warmly,
Sarah

Vegan speciality products ARE very expensive and frankly overpriced in most cases.  It is of course, a nice service to vegan community but do they really need to be so expensive?  After seeing how seitan is made and not that expensive to make, mind you. It makes me wonder why prices are so high, Vegan product pricing can turn a semi-poor person seeking to become a vegan, into a poor person who cannot afford it. My opinion of course!

Great news!  Now let's see, hope they don't try to rape our wallets because it's "Vegan" (read: Overpriced)

Hi everyone,

My father just e-mailed me about an amazing all-vegan grocery store opening in Denver. Here is the link to the story from Denver Hub: http://dpo.st/MAX...

They also (as the article states) have a $100,000 Kickstarter program to help them get off to a good start. http://www.kickst...

Let’s show them some love and support – we need more places like this!

Thank you!
