Hi everyone! This is a thread for the Vegan Drinks event that will be held this Thursday evening at 6pm at Adama. Hope you can make it! This is an opportunity for us to catch up and clear up any confusions about the different groups and events out there. Everyone is welcome - no matter how you identify - but this group will be held at a vegan restaurant so we can enjoy vegan food and drink and meet new people and think up some creative ways to support each other and plan other vegan events. See you Thursday!

Mandie, I'm also Vegan and I do not eat grilled chicken (or any other kind of chicken). At the beginning of the presentation I believe I "identified myself as a Vegan" - just to make sure that everyone knew my perspective and my preferences. The majority of the shoppers at Whole Foods Market are not Vegan (and this "Meetup" was also advertised on the Whole Foods Market Meetup Site - and it was assumed that it would be a "mixed-audience", with some Vegans but more non-Vegans). I apologize if you thought it would be a "100% Vegan Approach/Presentation" (but given the customers who shop at Whole Foods Market) - that would have excluded the vast majority of potential attendees. Regards, Rick

I attended the vegan meet up group not to long ago. I was disappointed to hear the speaker talk about "good" and "bad" foods and saying that grilled chicken is a good option. He did say that he was a vegan but still giving the lecture on eating grilled meat as a better option than say fried. I came to the meet up to feel home and heard. I did not want a crash nutrition coarse of terrible advice. In a country where people predominately eat meat.. Where is the place and time I get to be myself and hear vegans really speak freely about their food choices. This is the meet up I'm looking for. If anyone has a better option than this vegan meet up please let me know. Thanks!
