*** GENTLE REMINDER ***
Starting this January, our dates will change to 3rd Saturdays and the times will be 10 AM to 7 PM.
On January 19 we will be hosting the Vegas Game Day at the /usr/lib Tech Library on the second floor of The Beat cafe. Whether you're interested in learning a new game or meeting new gamers, this is the place to be. There will be table-top role-playing games and board games.
We are all guests for this event thanks to the kindness of The Beat cafe. Please do not bring outside food to the event; The Beat has a great selection of food to offer, and there are plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance. Those who bring in outside food may be asked to leave.
To reserve your seat for a particular game, please go to:
At 9 AM I will open the doors for the meeting area (one hour before gaming officially begins) to prep for the game day. If anyone would like to volunteer, I will need help moving tables, folding fliers, and posting events on the board. It's also a good time to get to know one another and ask questions of the upcoming games.
At 10 AM we kick off with gaming! Jerry Greyson will be hosting "Colonial Marines" using the Fuzion ruleset. The colony at LV-267 have stopped responding to messages and its up to the small platoon of colonial marines to find out why.
Jerrod Gunning will be running "My Little Pony: Return of the Changeling Queen" using the Savage Worlds rule-set. Darkness has returned to Ponyville and Princess Celestia is nowhere to be found! The Mane Six gallop off to the heart of the Changeling Kingdom to rescue the Cutie Mark Crusaders from the vile clutches of Queen Chrysalis!
Jeremy Olson will be hosting Shadowrun Mission SRM 04-10 Romero and Juilette. An artifact with mysterious, blood-fed powers. And astral beings with horrible grudges. All of these elements (and more) are coming together to give shadowrunners a long day and a longer night, as they move from trying to find what has been lost to struggling for their survival.
Ethan Cline will be hosting the Pathfinder Society Scenario 04-01 Rise of the Goblin Guild. When a monster is discovered on the grounds of the Pathfinder Lodge at Heidmarch Manor in Magnimar, an investigation into its appearance leads the PCs deep under the City of Monuments—and face to face with a burgeoning thieves’ guild. This is a scenario for character levels 1-5.
At 2 PM we have a meal break. Please be back in time for the next slot!
Continuing with the 3 PM slot, Kris Anderson will be hosting "StarCraft: Lost Detail, Once More" using rules from Alternity as a base set with some modifications. En route to an orbital space platform, the players will need all of their wits to survive and complete their mission.
In case you missed the morning session, Jerrod Gunning comes back to host "My Little Pony: Return of the Changeling Queen" using the Savage Worlds rule-set. Darkness has returned to Ponyville and Princess Celestia is nowhere to be found! The Mane Six gallop off to the heart of the Changeling Kingdom to rescue the Cutie Mark Crusaders from the vile clutches of Queen Chrysalis!
Adam Mickelson will be running the Pathfinder Society Scenario 00-14 The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch. When four statues of unspeakable power were found in a tomb in Osirion and then stolen, the Pathfinder Society assumed they were gone forever. When they appeared again in the illicit inventory of a Qadiran smuggler in the massive trade city of Sedeq, the Society wasted little time dispatching agents there to recover them. This is a scenario for character levels 1-5.
Chris Clay will be running the Pathfinder Society Scenario 04-02 In Wrath's Shadow. In the ruins of Xin-Bakrakhan (seat of power of the Runelord of Wrath) the Pathfinder Society stands on the verge of a great discovery, but first the brave agents exploring the ruins must survive ages-old dangers and contemporary threats to return with the knowledge and wealth they’ve unearthed. This is a scenario for character levels 3-7.
At 7 PM, Chris Clay will begin closing down the room. Volunteers can help by picking up trash, moving the tables back into their original positions, and wiping down the whiteboards.
Please reserve your seat on Warhorn and plan on arriving fifteen minutes early! This allows our volunteers to start their games on time and provide the experience that they've worked so hard to create. To register, please visit:
If anyone has questions, comments, or other feedback, I can be contacted at Perry AT NeonCon DOT com.
Finally, I would like to give a big thank you to all of our volunteers for making this event happen.
Q. Ack! What happened to board games?
A. I have reserved a table in both slots on Warhorn for board games; there is no specific board game scheduled. January is Spontaneous Board Game Month. Maybe I made that last part up, but the bottom line is that we still have a table for people to play board games.
Q. What's Game Day like?
A. Brant Polkowski has reviewed the Game Days several times on his site, and the reviews describe a typical game day better than I can (Thank you Brant!). You can visit Brant's reviews at:
