Watch 4th of July Fireworks from on top a ridge overlooking Las Vegas. This is also known as the hike to the Muffin Boulders. We should have the ridge to ourselves, plus it's higher than Lone Mountain (a very popular place to watch fireworks), so it will be a bit cooler.
Make sure to bring a headlamp for the hike back down to our cars.
I will have the "I Survived a Branch Whitney" Hike T-Shirts with me. They are $14, all sizes.

Can anyone recommend a brand and shop for camelback and headlight?
Thanks
REI has everything you will need. Their own REI daypack is very good. Headlamp: Black Diamond, can't find the exact model, but all Black Diamond gear is good.
Big 5 sports has good prices and selection on camelbacks. If not currently on sale, ask the cashier what she can sell it to you for.
Rachel, as far as headlamps go. I like the Energizer 3 led. It's either at walmart or target. 2 LEDs are white, one is red. You can switch between the two. If I can remember the price was under $10

You can bring what you want, but you will have to carry it. Remember we will be descending in the dark. This is an easy hike by my standards, but some might find it difficult. Due to the number of hikers signed up, please no kids. The trail is narrow and kids could slow us down. Thanks.
