This is not a starter or introduction to Charleston Peak.
I will join Skip's Trail canyon hike and will climb up to the trail junction in fast pace. But you don't have to hike in fast pace. I will wait at trail junction until everyone comes up.
We will hike in moderate pace, but it will be faster pace for beginners. I will stop frequently for let slow hikers to catch up with group.
Bring lots of water, food/snacks, cap/hat, sunglass, sunscreen.
Since its under monsoon season, you must bring rain gear(poncho) even its sunny. Mountain weather changes very quickly. Rain won't kills you but cold temperature will kill you!
It will be bit chilly at the Peak, so please bring light jacket.
Trekking Pole will helps you if you bring it.

Let's meet at Starbuck's (95/Durango) on 7:45AM.
Skip's trail Canyon hike group is meeting at there. So, make sure you are with right group when carpool.
Plan to carpool and riders should chip in $5-$6 for gas.

Our trail head is Trail Canyon Trail head. But we will finish at South Loop trail head. So, we will leave few cars at there before hiking.

Any question? Call me or email me.

I just found out I have to work this weekend. However instead of cancelling, would someone be willing to step as as point person. It's all trail, just park one care at the lodge to shuttle at the end and take one car to trail canyon to start to trail. Let me know. If no one steps up in the next couple days, Ill cancel the hike.

I nominate Shin, and if his schedule changes then I am willing to take point. I'm not an organizer though, so please be understanding if we fall off a cliff. LOL.

Two hikes in one weekend with Shin would be amazing.... but James, if need be, you will lead us well - no cliff falling off for us....

It was breezy instead of rain or hail. (We got rain & hail yesterday @ Mummy) So, it was very cold at Charleston Peak and about a mile down to the South Loop Trail. 3 out of 9 hikers tried Charleston Peak for first time and everyone made it. We had completed this hike in 9 hours without any injury.

It was my first time to the peak. I enjoyed that direction. Not much sun exposure. I had a lot of fun.

This was a serious hike. Fortunately all of the people on Shin's hike were very experienced. This makes everything so much better. Great hike, group and Leader.

Wonderful hike with wonderful hikers. The high speed winds at the peak was an adventure, and well worth it. Thanks Shin for taking over the lead on this hike when the initial lead had to pull out.
