Shark Boulder and Juniper Peak

Albertsons (map)

Selected By: A former member

This is going to be cool. Bob is doing the normal route to Juniper Peak, a great hike. We will do the route through Pine Creek and ascend Shark Boulder, a wild looking boulder just west of Juniper Peak. Hopefully Bob's group will be at Juniper when we are on Shark Boulder and they can take a photo of us. From Juniper Peak Shark Boulder has a 400 foot shear face (See the photo). We will then scramble up to Juniper Peak and descend the normal route.
No beginners, kids, or dogs. There's a tricky, class 4 downclimb to get onto Shark Boulder.

Stats:
Distance: 6 miles round trip
Elevation gain: 2,131 feet
Elevation peak: 6,109 feet
Time: 4 to 5 hours - Up and back
Difficulty: 3.5 of 5
Danger level: 4 of 5
Class: 4

I don't think he's qualified to do this hike, Branch.

He'll probably show up in his flip flops and carrying an Evian water bottle again.

Nobody is gonna back out of this meetup are they? Crappy. Seems I'm always twelve hours late for a Branch hike.

It took longer than it should have, but it was definitely a good time. The climbing and the company were great.
