Gold Strike Hot Springs is a popular hike in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. We'll be hiking and soaking on a Thursday morning to avoid the crowds. The trailhead is located a half-mile past the Hacienda Hotel in Boulder City-- just before the Hoover Dam. We'll hike through a picturesque slot canyon with towering walls on each side while passing several hot springs and hot waterfalls along the way. Eventually we'll make our way to the sparkling blue-green waters of the Colorado River. If the water level at the river is not too high we'll visit the sauna cave as well.
The hot springs start about 2/3 of the way to the river, and from that point on the terrain becomes... adventuresome. We'll have to traverse slippery boulders and short ledges, occasionally using fixed ropes to help us along. This is a very fun hike!
On our way down, we'll check out the various pools and waterfalls to find our perfect soaking spot. After we reach the Colorado River, we'll head back up the canyon and settle in for a nice, relaxing soak. PLEASE ONLY RSVP FOR THIS HIKE IF YOU PLAN TO SOAK.

We'll meet under the big sign at the Fiesta Henderson at 8AM and carpool from there. There are limited slots available for this hike, so PLEASE RSVP RESPONSIBLY!
