What is the most difficult hike you have ever done?

Nothing too crazy. In terms of evelvation change, Griffith Peak has been the toughest. Last weekend, my wife and I hiked the Grey Cap Peak route in Red Rock that required some scrambling. (Unfortunatley, we missed the summit by about a quarter mile due to time. We need to go back and get this one done.) I'd like to improve my scrambling skills.

How did you get started hiking, or what has gotten you back in to it?

I hiked quite a bit when I was younger and on and off over the years. I've always enjoyed the beauty, peace and stress free environment of the outdoors (vs. the office). Now in the retirement mode, it's time to get out on a regular basis.

Where is the most scenic place you've ever hiked or camped?

While I love Red Rock and Mt. Charleston, Zion and Bryce Canyons are quite spectacular too. I enjoy them all.

Where would you most like the group to go on an outing?

It's hard to say as there are so many places yet to explore. Any of the National Parks would be cool. Maybe a long trip to Yosemite.

Why are you joining VegasHikers?

I'm looking forward to meeting new friends who share my interest in hiking, getting outdoors much more frequently and improving my outdoor skills.

I'm a Las Vegas native and have recently retired. I'm looking forward to getting out much more frequently now on both day hikes and backpacking trips with new friends. I'm also an avid cyclist. On a personal note, I'm married and have two boys.
